Need that precious space to work on the carĪnd while I'm not going to be spending the stimulus money on car mods, I did tell my wife I was going to take some of it and splurge on getting a small shed (looking at the Rubbermaid Big Max 7'x7' at Home Depot). I want the yard and outside shit out of the garage. We didn't need the free stimulus money, but we're also not well off enough where we could just turn it away.Īnd while I'm not going to be spending the stimulus money on car mods, I did tell my wife I was going to take some of it and splurge on getting a small shed (looking at the Rubbermaid Big Max 7'x7' at Home Depot). My wife and I are fortunate enough where our jobs were secure through 2020, and we're just on the cusp of the upper eligibility requirements, which is something like double the average household income for our area. They could have easily figured out a better way to figure out who legitimately needs the help and who didn't. But for fucks sake, they had something like 9 months between the first and second round. They needed a quick way to distribute money. The very first round, I get and can give them a pass.
Not factoring that someone making $60k in Los Angeles needs help more than someone making $60k in Bumfuck Idaho, was stupid as hell. Just doing it off your 2019 taxes (which is what your earned in 2018), was stupid as hell. I absolutely agree the targeting could have been much better.
